About Me

Hi there! My name is Lilia Rohmann, and I am the owner and founder of Precious Thyme, a home food preparation service!

After graduating from college in 2022 and starting a new job, I became deeply interested in learning how to put together more delicious meals, and I grew more intentional about getting more fresh food into my diet. My desire to get in the kitchen and eat healthier was inspired by countless mouth-watering video recipes that I encountered on the internet. In trying to replicate many of the meal ideas that I saw online, I found that putting together each meal required a large time commitment in my post-grad routine. This time barrier often deterred me from making a fresh meal, and the food in my refrigerator was repeatedly going to waste. I knew I needed to find more convenient meal options that did not sacrifice wellness.

In 2023, I began to discover ingredient prep methods and instantly knew that weaving ingredient prep into my weekly routine could save me hours of kitchen headaches. When I began ingredient prepping, the decision to cook at home and put together healthier meals became so much easier because I was able to prepare my meals so much faster! It didn't take long for me to realize that so many other people could benefit from consistent ingredient prep. However, I also knew that it could be difficult for many to dedicate a few hours to ingredient prep every week. From this realization, Precious Thyme was born!

I understood that there were many existing players - both big and small - offering meal prep services, but I couldn't find anyone who was offering ingredient prep services. Starting in late 2023, I began imagining what an ingredient prep business could look like, and how it could offer benefits and a personalized client experience that no one else in the food service space was already providing. In 2024, I registered Precious Thyme as a business to begin formally offering services to the San Francisco community. I am so excited to help others eat delicious and healthy foods more conveniently, all while reducing food waste and inspiring curiosity about nutrition and wellness in the process.

As I have become increasingly immersed in the craft of cooking and delicious meal-making, I have decided to also begin offering meal prep assistance in addition to my existing services. I am excited to continue to develop my culinary skillset and share my work with you!

I am certified by the National Restaurant Association as a California Food Handler, having demonstrated my knowledge of proper food storage and cleanliness practices, and of prevention of food-borne illness and cross-contamination. Please see my ServSafe certification here.
